Christian Abreu

Christian began playing double bass at the age of 13. Through his many accomplishments in school, he was awarded a full ride music scholarship to attend the University of South Florida School of Music and served as Assistant Principal bassist of the USF Symphony Orchestra from 2008-2010. After college, Christian worked professionally in New York City. While in New York, he worked with some of the greatest names in music, and proudly served as Assistant Principal bassist for the Nova Philharmonic and was invited to join the faculty of El Sistema New York.  Christian returned home to the Tampa Bay area where he can be seen performing with The Florida Orchestra, Venice Symphony, Brevard Symphony, and NovaBaroque Ensemble. He has served as a Florida All-State Clinician and is a regular clinician at Howard W. Blake, Plant, Gaither and Harrison School of the Arts among others.

Desmond Bratton

Desmond is a freelance bassist and pedagogue passionate about community engagement through the art of musical conversation. He holds a Masters of Music from Ithaca College. Desmond currently holds a guest lecturer position at Cornell University, and is also double bass faculty at Opus Ithaca, a locally founded school of music in Ithaca New York. He has been invited to perform and present at seminars and master classes throughout out his home state of Florida, most recently in South America with the Neuquén Symphony Orchestra in Patagonia. Since 2017 Desmond has spent his summers as double bass performance and teaching Faculty at the Philadelphia Orchestra associated, Luzerne Music Center Music Festival located in the foothills of Adirondack State Park in Upstate New York. There he enjoys performing chamber music and teaching private lessons as well as large and small ensemble coaching.
